What the coaching is about
Anyone who brings an academic qualification to Germany has to make it count in a job market with its own rules. The coaching therefore starts with a potential analysis and the question of motivation and attitude, before working on the market, your profile and your strategy.
Building on this, your application documents and your online presence are developed. A dedicated module on self-management and coping with stress takes into account that looking for a job in a new country takes energy. The one-to-one format makes it possible to include your field of study and your career to date in a targeted way.
What you will be able to do afterwards
- Classify and present your academic qualification for the German market
- Identify industries and employers that match your profile
- Develop an application strategy and pursue it consistently
- Create application documents in line with local conventions
- Increase your professional visibility in online networks

Funding and requirements
The costs can be fully covered by an Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein (AVGS, a German state-funded activation and placement voucher). The Agentur für Arbeit (Federal Employment Agency) or the Jobcenter (local job center) is responsible; anyone receiving Grundsicherungsgeld (basic income support) usually contacts the Jobcenter. Approval is at the discretion of the authority. A university degree is required.
How stellung.org supports you
In the initial consultation, Nika Landau takes time to look at your academic background, your previous experience with job applications in Germany and your career goal. Together we check whether the coaching suits your situation. You receive the information for the application and a template for your justification. The coaching itself is delivered by an AZAV-certified education partner (AZAV is the German accreditation required for state-funded training).
The initial consultation is non-binding and takes place by phone or video. Our support is free of charge for you. The education partner pays us if you start a program there; that is why we only recommend what matches your profile and can realistically be approved.
Frequently asked questions
Which degrees is the coaching intended for?
It is aimed at people who have moved to Germany with a university degree; no specific fields of study are required. The coaching focuses on positioning, strategy and applications. Questions about the formal recognition of degrees are handled by the offices set up for that purpose.
Does the coaching also address the strain of looking for a job?
Yes, self-management and coping with stress form a separate module. It is meant to help you shape the job search phase in a structured way and with energy. However, the coaching does not replace psychological counseling or therapy.
How long does the coaching take?
There is no fixed number of sessions; the scope depends on your voucher. We clarify it together with you in the initial consultation, tailored to your starting point and your goal.
